BLADNOCH

Visitor Centre open. Founded in 1817, the visitor centre was built in 1988. Mothballed in 1993, Raymond Armstrong purchased Bladnoch in 1994 then had a hell of a time with united distillers over production levels. Limited to 250,000 bottles per year-this is a nice drop of gear.

LITTLEMILL

Although this was Scotland`s oldest distillery, being founded in 1772, it is sadly now no more, being eventually destroyed by fire whilst in a state of disrepair. Only recently tried a Signatory bottling of this, which was actually very tasty.

ROSEBANK

Aah, Nigel`s favourite! First mentioned in 1798 and closed in 1993. What a pity this whisky was not chosen as one of the Diageo classic malts (Glenkinchie was chosen instead), as it is now a restaurant, offices and flats.
